We blinked and 30 years went by since my childhood best friend and I lived in the same neighborhood. On a whim, my husband suggested we reconnect. We’d been invited to a family reunion on the Eastern slope and Grand Junction couldn’t be that far. Our four day visit turned into an end to end tour of the Valley. A good dose of real estate snooping convinced us Mesa County would be a great place to live and work. When we returned home, we sold two houses and packed everything we owned into a U-Haul. With our thirteen-year-old rescue dog, Biz, in the back seat, we hit the road. Our grown daughter followed us two years later, settling here in the Grand Junction.
My Dad, a retired US Navy officer, and my Mom, a real estate broker, instilled in me the value of hard work, honesty, integrity and their entrepreneurial spirit. Before moving to Grand Junction, I owned and operated a vacation rentals and construction cleaning service. With a Coldwell Banker office as my main client, my business quickly grew to include staging homes for sale. Special event planning, bartending, restaurant and hospitality services developed in me a strong sense for exceptional customer service, communication, organizational skills and keen attention to the finest details.
Every day, I am grateful to dig in the soil of my garden, walk one of the many trails out my back door, and enjoy the numerous perks life in this Grand Valley offers. Karen met and exceeded our expectations. We will move to Grand Junction in the next couple of years and were only casually looking at homes and property when we first contacted her.
